Summary

This initiative focuses on empowering the local workforce and strengthening research and innovation in support of Oman’s energy transition.

The ASI program was launched to boost awareness, enhance skills, and promote innovation across sectors. Its goal is to equip individuals and institutions with the knowledge, capabilities, and tools necessary to drive impactful contributions to the energy transition.

The project aims to:

• Assess and build workforce capabilities by identifying skills gaps, developing roadmaps, and upskilling the local workforce.
• Strengthen industry-academia collaboration to encourage joint research and technology development.
• Promote innovation and knowledge management by supporting startups, enhancing research funding, and adopting best practices.

The initiative’s methodology includes data collection, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and standardization efforts to align with industry needs.

The ASI program directly supports Oman’s national goals by building human capital, driving economic impact, and fostering sustainable energy innovation through collaborative partnerships.
